Real Elvish Translator helps you learn Elvish! Its main feature is a translator that deconstructs English sentences, finds their meaning, and reconstructs them into the elvish language Quenya, a fully functioning language developed by J. R. R. Tolkien. An extensive Word Bank/Dictionary allows you to browse and find information about the words and how they are used.

This app is perfect for role-playing, or for someone seriously interested in learning Quenya, and soon Sindarin, a second Elvish language. Sindarin is the one used mostly in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit because it is the everyday language, where Quenya is used for ceremonial purposes.

You do not need an internet connection for it to work. All of the information is in this small application file. Unlike online translators which rely upon server farms, this application collects relevant information necessary for accurate translations, and uses linguistics to decipher the intended meaning. If you make a grammatical error it will often tell you what is wrong.

We plan on adding Quenya to English translations, as well as support for Sindarin, a second Elvish language. You will even be able to translate between the two Elvish languages. We will also add social features so you can easily send messages to your friends via SMS.

It is designed for phones, but should work fine on tablets as well. The font size and colors are customizable for improved readability.
